What is a torque sensor?

A torque sensor is a device that measures the amount of torque, or rotational force, applied to a mechanical system. In the context of electric bikes, a torque sensor is crucial for enhancing the riding experience. It detects the force exerted by the rider on the pedals and provides proportional motor assistance. Torque Sensor vs. Cadence Sensor

1. Torque Sensor:
